The Double Bow Windsor Chair

This is a traditional double bow windsor chair in ash wood.  The bows are steam bent. The legs and stretchers are turned. The seat is made from a single plank.

The joints are all mortice and tenon, with the legs and upper bow joined with the addition of wedges to add even more security to the joints. The legs use tapered mortices to ensure that the legs never work loose.

The chair is finished with Osmo wax/oil. This is a finish that keeps the chair in a natural colour with minimal darkening with age.

This chair is set at an angle suitable for sitting at a table in that it is more upright than some chairs.
